Introduction of Maurice Wisdom Bishop

My name is Maurice Wisdom Bishop and I am an AGR Supply Sergeant in the U.S. Army. I've been deployed to Iraq for 13 months and I have 8 years of service.

I'm an author of Blood on Paper and a spoken word poet. I've performed in many popular Open Mic Cafes; such as Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in Manhattan, NY, Dowlings Palace in Philadelphia, PA, Club Reign in Baltimore, Maryland, and The Secret Lounge in Manhattan, NY. I was the semi-finalist in the Youth Poetry Slam at the Free Library of Philadelphia in 2006. I won 1st place at the Madrid Poetry Slam Cafe in Dallas, TX in 2010. I won 3rd place at the Austin Poetry Slam Event in 2010 and won the Off The Chain Award on Poetic Flows Radio Show in 2009. My spoken word poetry deals with my life experiences, hard struggles, hope, and revelation.  I encourage everyone from all ages to read my poetry; as well as look at my video performances.
